The website was made to be fully responsive so that it can be viewed easily on any size screen and is compatible with all devices. As a charity, the tone of voice for the website needed to be friendly and positive while also informative. This is helped by the website being image focussed to convey visually the work of the organisation.
When the website is visited the first thing that users will see is a pop up with the opportunity to sign up to their newsletter mailing list. This encourages the website user to engage with the organisation after the viewing of the website.
Cowes Sailability provides sailing and recreational boating opportunities for people with disabilities. Therefore the website needed to be accessible , the text speech feature allows all users to access the information on the website.
Website News Blog
On the Cowes Sailability website, there is a news blog that is kept up to date with a new post put up every month to ensure that it is up to date with current events. To keep the information consistent the newsletter highlights the news displayed in the blog.
The brief was to use the company’s style and colours to create a customer facing newsletter. Using snippets of information from that month’s news stories, these would then be put into the blog on their website. The newsletter allows them to keep in touch with their members, supporters and volunteers regularly.
